The Sustainable Banana Plan
Work for the Earth, People and the Economy

On December 5, 2008, the Banana sector of Guadeloupe & Martinique reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable agriculture by signing the Sustainable Banana Plan to guide its operations towards a greater focus on sustainability.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT + BIODIVERSITY
To produce the most virtuous bananas, the Banana sector in Guadeloupe & Martinique invests in innovation and continue to develop its practices for preserving natural resources.
Thanks to these best practices, the banana farms of Guadeloupe and Martinique are now a refuge for many animal species. There now are more than 214 species of insects, twice as many species of birds than there were 10 years ago. This biodiversity helps protect the crops.
